Our Network

In the course of the development of Abram Ward Community Cooperative, we began to be invited to participate in regional and wider networks including, for example, the Empowering Places programme via Power to Change, and locally the Community Wealth building agenda via Wigan Council.

AWCC also developed a Wigan Borough Social Enterprise network in 2016 and were supported in the growth of this, via Wigan Borough Community Partnership in 2020.

AWCC also led the campaign for Social Enterprise UK's SE Place kitemark status for Wigan Borough. Commencing in 2018, we gathered together a stakeholder group consisting of representatives from the Public, Private and VCSE sectors and undertook a 2-year consultation programme. We were successful in achieving SE Place status in December 2020 and we now represent Wigan Borough at the national Social Enterprise UK Places stakeholder groups.
Our intention as WLCC is to build on these networks, responding to invitations, actively soliciting contracts and generating revenue
through commissions for services in which we are able to both build and share the knowledge and skills we have acquired in this field.
Are you someone or have you identified someone who might benefit from becoming involved with WLCC or any of our initiatives such as Made in Wigan?

There are various ways that you can get in touch to take things forward.

It may be that you want to make contact to first find out if there really is a ‘fit’.

You may want to speak on the phone, come and visit us on behalf of someone, or maybe you’d like to bring someone along for an initial chat.

Whichever route you prefer we can accommodate.

First things first though, share some brief details and we’ll be back in touch!
